Subject: Policy to Enhance Gender Equality in Maternity Leave and Parental Duty Leave

        The Gender Equality Act of B.E. 2558 (2015), which was issued in accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, states that human dignity, rights, freedom, and individual equality should be protected in a consistent manner with the equality law in which men and women hold equal rights. Additionally, to be consistent with the Announcement of the Khon Kaen University Personnel Administration Committee, Number 6/2565 (2022) on the subject of “Office Time, Leave, and Salary during Leave of Personnel;” Khon Kaen University has stipulated the following policy:
        (1) The female personnel of Khon Kaen University have the right to take maternity leave and are entitled to receive their regular salaries for a maximum period of 98 days from the delivery date.
        (2) The male personnel of Khon Kaen University have the legal right to take leave in order to assist their wives, who have just given birth to a child. Moreover, they are entitled to receive their regular salaries for a maximum period of 15 days during the maternity leave of their wives, with the provision that both the certification of the marriage and the birth certificate are shown.
