      The university has set 3 primary goals for its advancement: People, University Ecology, and the Spirit of the University. Guided by Khon Kaen University’s commitment to 'Dedication to the Community and Society,' the university has developed its mission of academic service to foster cooperation for societal, economic, and environmental development (Social Contribution). This includes supporting and strengthening the community and society and managing the environment sustainably in line with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thus, a policy established to promote academic services for the benefit of society includes the following aspects.
1. Focus on addressing key issues in the Northeastern region, including social, environmental, and economic challenges, arts and culture, medicine and public health, social conflicts, and poverty, as well as other matters of significance to the Northeast. These include local identities that must be preserved alongside the community.
2. Focus on building partnerships with key communities associated with the university to foster community development that meets their needs and effectively addresses major issues. This process emphasizes utilizing the university's and the community's knowledge and strengths to create innovations and sustainably build upon existing knowledge.
3. Support collaboration with agencies at all levels, from community and local levels to the Northeastern region, as well as national and international organizations, in planning and implementing actions to reduce inequality and address poverty in all its dimensions.
