Subject: Policy on Gender Equality and Non-discrimination on Gender and the Disabled in Khon Kaen University

        The Gender Equality Act of B.E. 2558 (2015), which was issued in agreement with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, states that regarding human dignity, rights, freedom, and equality, individuals should receive equal protection according to the law. Men and women hold equal rights and should not be treated with unfair discrimination, notwithstanding whether the reason is a difference in the place of birth, nationality, sex, age, disability, physical or health condition, or individual status. Khon Kaen University sees the importance of this matter, and hence, has issued a policy to regulate gender equality and non-discrimination, as follows:
        (1) Khon Kaen University has a policy to enhance equality without unfair practices in the University. In this regard, the University has enhanced gender equality and non-discrimination towards females, transgender individuals, and people with disabilities.
        (2) Khon Kaen University has a policy to enroll students into the University at all levels without considering their individual social statuses, physical statuses, genders (male, female, or transgender), ages, states of pregnancy, ethnicities, localities, social classes, and others, including physical disabilities.
        (3) With regard to the recruitment of officers, Khon Kaen University has a policy, which states that an applicant can have any educational qualification or skills that correspond to the job excluding consideration based on the applicant’s social status, physical status, gender (male, female, or transgender), age, pregnancy, having given birth, ethnicity, locality, social class, and others, including physical disability.
        (4) Khon Kaen University has the policy of awarding scholarships and subsidizing scholarships to its personnel, with no discrimination with regard to gender (male, female, or transgender), age, ethnicity, locality, social class, or physical disability.
