Khon Kaen University signs an MOU with MCUT, Taiwan for more collaboration

Prof. Acharawan Tophak-ngarm, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Pensri Jaroenwanich, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy; Assoc. Prof. Chupong Thongkhamsamut, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Architecture; Assoc. Prof. Jeeranuch Sngiamsak, Ph.D., an administrator from the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Pattara Khotphakdee, an administrator from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts; Dr. Chuanchen Bi, an administrator from the College of Graduate Study in Management; and Mrs. Wilawan Angsunantawiwat, Acting Director of the Division of International Affairs; welcomed Dr. Thu-Hua Liu, President of Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan and the delegation on the occasion of their visit to Khon Kaen University to sign an MOU between the two universities.

The President of Khon Kaen University said that during the past years, both the staff and students of KKU have had chances to participate in the academic and research exchange programs with institutions in Taiwan. “Today, I’m very pleased to officially begin the collaboration with MCUT, which is a leading university in Taiwan and is renowned in the fields of engineering, resources and environment, management and design. Our two universities are similar in the offers of programs in these fields.”

After the MOU signing ceremony, administrators of the two universities discussed the collaboration aspects, which have been decided on arranging a Dual Degree or a Double Degree program in engineering and exchanges of students and lecturers in the relevant fields, the details of which are to be laid out at a later stage.

MCUT, Taiwan, was founded in 1963 and is one of the leading universities in Taiwan in technologies, especially in the fields of engineering, resources and environment, management and design. Besides, MCUT also has a leading role in vocational education of Taiwan and is renowned in organizing training programs for staff development.
