Faculty of Medicine, KKU, holds a big health promotion event for healthy society and community

April 4, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. – Khon Kaen University by the Faculty of Medicine organized a big event to promote health among students, staff and the public for the third time, under the name: The 3rd KKU Transformation to Smart & Health KKU Citizens, 2023. Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation presided over the opening ceremony and delivered the opening speech. Assoc. Prof. Apichat Jirawutthipong, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, KKU, delivered the reporting speech. Approximately 300 people including students, staff members, the Elderly Club, health volunteers and the public attended. The event took place at Mo Din Daeng Room, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation mentioned in his opening speech that the 3rd KKU Transformation to Smart & Health KKU Citizens, 2023 is organized by the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association. “It is an important event during the age of rehabilitation from the situation of Covid-19 pandemic, from which people have been considerably affected. Promotion and support from all sectors to enhance good health will lead to appropriate health care skills among the citizens, personnel and students. They will be able to meet with and adjust themselves when confronted with various situations by being alert and aware of all situations, and able to take more care of their health. This would lead to healthiness and ultimately income building in the future.”

Assoc. Prof. Apichat Jirawutthipong, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, KKU, reported that the 3rd KKU Transformation to Smart & Health KKU Citizens, 2023 has emerged from the Covid-19 pandemic during the past 2-3 years until now when the situation is entering the age of New Normal. The situation bought a lot of impact on the people, in health, socio-economic conditions and changes of lifestyles. People have suffered from tension, and the tendency of the incidence of chronic but preventable diseases has increased. The key objective of this project was thus to promote health management in all aspects among personnel, students and the people in the areas under the responsibility of Srinagarind Hospital. The outcome would be people’s potential in managing their own health. The Project also offered a venue for learning and sharing and stimulating people to change their health behaviors that would lead to good health and suitable health care skills. Attendants would be acknowledged about and thus understand how to build an environment that facilitates healthiness of themselves and the family. Finally, all would be able to face and efficiently adjust themselves in any situation of newly and recurring contagious diseases that may occur in the future. The major goal is for Thai people to be in better health and living.

    

The 3rd KKU Transformation to Smart & Health KKU Citizens, 2023 was organized on April 4-5, 2023. About 300 participants attended the event, which featured forums, learning and sharing, small group practice under the topic: “Khok Nongna Model and Building of Healthy Civil Community” led by experts from Khok Nongna Club, Faculty of Engineering, KKU, and the Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association; a forum and talk on: “Sustainable Personnel Health Care” by experts and specialized doctors from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. Lastly, there were presentations of works on health promotion of different organizations in Khon Kaen University and booths exhibiting health-related information and disease prevention.
